In my never-ending search to find the perfect skin care regimen, I think I've found a winner in the moisturizer department. Beauty Without Cruelty's Maximum Moisture Cream ($16.95) strikes the perfect balance between moisture and texture. It looks rich in the jar but it goes on smoothly and absorbs quickly. It reminds me of my most favorite moisturizer ever, Origin's Constant Comforter moisturizer for sensitive skin, which was discontinued a few years ago. The consistency and feel are almost identical. The fragrance is similar too, although a little more herbal in a bitter kind of way. But it's not an unpleasant fragrance, and it's all-natural, derived from the blend of essential oils of Rose Bulgarian, Lavender, Rose Geranium, and Frankincense. The ingredients are so good for your skin, and completely all-natural, that I'm inspired to list the entire ingredients, something I don't usually do:
- Organic botanical infusion (calendula, lavender, chamomile),
organic shea butter, organic avocado oil, vegetable glycerin, kukuki nut oil,
mango butter, glyceryl stearate, organic jojoba oil, sodium hyaluronate
(powerful moisturizer), sodium pca (natural moisturizer), lecithin liposomes
(time-release anti-oxidant extracts: green tea, grapeseed, gingko biloba),
sorbitol (natural moisturizer), organic rosehip seed oil (rosa rubiginosa),
stearyl alcohol (from coconut oil), organic tamanu oil (calophyllum inophyllum),
sorbitan stearate, olive squalane, stearic acid (from coconut), vitamin E
(natural d-alpha tocopherol), vitamin A (retinyl palmitate), vitamin C (ascorbic
acid), oat protein, panthenol (vitamin B factor), allantoin (skin-healing),
organic borage oil, organic aroma-therapeutic essential oils of Rose Bulgarian,
Lavender, Rose Geranium, Frankincense, beta carotene (pro-vitamin A),
phenoxyethanol, benzyl alcohol, potassium sorbate, citric acid (from citrus
fruit).
Beauty Without Cruelty was the world's first cruelty-free makeup line. Founded in 1963, they found alternate sources of testing cosmetics long before companies like The Body Shop and Origins increased global awareness of the unethical implications of testing cosmetics on animals. You can purchase their products from their website, www.beautywithoutcruelty.com or on drugstore.com. But I've found a couple of websites that sell them for less than retail. Both iherb.com and vitacost.com sell them for less. Although vitacost.com's price ($10.83) is cheaper than iherb's ($13.08), iherb's shipping is cheaper, and they ship Priority. I actually saved about 60 cents by ordering from iherb instead of vitacost, and my package arrived in two days.
Beauty Without Cruelty's Maximum Moisture Cream has become a staple of my daily skin care regimen. My skin looks better than it has in months, and the cream hasn't caused breakouts. It also doesn't break the bank, something that has become increasingly important to me during this economic recession. The fragrance truly is aromatherapeutic, adding a relaxing and calming element to my morning and evening rituals. I think I'm in love.
Love the contents and make of the cream.. This'll be perfect for my skin..
