I found this at TJ Maxx today. Cute as Hell Violet and Quince Body Wash is a fruity-fragranced gel with little moisture-filled micro beads that burst when you wash, along with aloe vera and algae extract. It's manufactured by Blue Q, makers of such irreverent bath and body brands as Wash Away Your Sins, Miso Pretty, and Total Bitch. Like these and other Blue Q products, clever names and funky graphics disguise mediocre products. Cute as Hell Violet and Quince Body Wash is just a basic shower gel. It's decent enough, but nothing special. The body wash lathers as well as any other. The fragrance is pleasant, and reminds me of the violet and cassis shower gel from the now defunct Skinmarket stores. The micro beads, however, are few and far between. But I'm a sucker for novelty packaging. The tattoo-inspired lettering and the Gothic Lolita pirate octopus girl with big eyes drew me right to the tube amidst all the other bargains on the shelf. I collect Blythe dolls, so maybe that's partly why I was attracted to the goth girl on the packaging. Cute as Hell Violet and Quince Body Wash normally retails for $11.99, but I snagged it for $3.99 at TJ Maxx. Total score! To be honest, I don't think it's worth the retail price. You can find these and other Blue Q brands at www.blueq.com. But see if you can pick them up at an overstock store like TJ Maxx.
