Avon has announced it has acquired Liz Earle, the British naturally active skin care company. Liz Earle has a large following in the United Kingdom, where their most popular product, Cleanse and Polish, has an almost cult-like status, but the company has far lesser brand recognition among American consumers (apart from a brief period several years ago when it was sold on QVC). Earle and co-founder Kim Buckland will continue to manage the company as a stand-alone brand from their offices in England. The company has a US website, www.us.lizearle.com, so you can continue to buy it online.
Here's hoping that Avon's acquisition will lead to an increased awareness of the brand in the United States, and perhaps wider availability. Read Liz Earle's statement about the acquisition here.
Avon Products has announced the acquisition of naturally positioned UK skin care company Liz Earle in a 100% all-cash deal. That's even worse than when L'Oreal bought out The Body Shop. Cleanse and Polish has already started to wane in quality since they took out the almond oil,I think I'll look elsewhere now.
